Calvary’s Sunday School program for children age 4 through the 3rd grade. We a specially equipped Godly Play classroom for children age 4 through 3rd grade.  Godly Play meets in our Children's Education Building, on Sunday mornings during the Formation Hour at 10:00 a.m.  

 

Developed by Episcopal Priest, Dr. Jerome Berryman, Godly Play is an approach to religious edication in which the teacher shows various ways to use sacred stories, parables and liturgical actions of the Christian faith and Episcopal tradidions as tools for approaching the larger questions of life.  These components of religious language become the starting points for wonder and discussion.

 

Following a Montessori approach, the materials are always available for the children to use in retelling the story, thus helping them truly make the stories of our faith their own.  Class structure follows the pattern of worship.
