Calvary Worship Opportunities
“….in my father’s house
there are many rooms.”
In the words of St. Paul, ‘we are one body made up of many members.’ Here at Calvary we are introverts and extroverts, thinkers and feelers, spontaneous and calculating, joyful and reverent. We do not all worship in the same manner. For some it is the music for others the liturgy. For some it is ceremony for others intimacy.
We offer three different worship services to honor the diversity that is Calvary. Below is the list of worship services we will offer. See which service beckons you and come and try it out.
STANDARD
EVERY SUNDAY
Holy Eucharist
The liturgy at this early Service is traditional in form and contemplative in spirit. There is no music.
Holy Eucharist
Contemporary Service
9:00 a.m.
This more informal liturgy employs renewal music led by the piano and a group of young people and adults who sit informally in the choir stalls. The text of the liturgy is intentionally inclusive and is drawn from the New Zealand and Welsh Books of Common Prayer. The Sacrament is administered in the front of the nave. Visitors are always welcomed.
Holy Eucharist
11:00 a.m.
Liturgical texts for the 11:00 Service generally come from Rite II (Prayers A and B) in the Book of Common Prayer. The congregation actively participates in this festive Service, and the hymns and Service music are from the 1982 Hymnal. The Service is traditional in format, and the congregation is very welcoming to visitors and
new-comers.
Parish Fellowship
Coffee hour is held after both the 9:00 and 11:00 Services in the Community Life Center (Parish Hall) across the street in back of the church. Church school classes for young people and adults begin at 10:00 a.m. during the school year.
